Buy smaller brussels sprouts if you can as they will cook faster and be more tender

|1 pound||Fresh brussels sprouts|
|1 teaspoon||Lemon juice|
|1/4 cup||Almonds; slivered and dry toasted|
|1||Clean brussels sprouts by removing outer leaves and cutting thick bottom off. Cut each sprout in half. Parboil or or steam the brussels sprouts (3 minutes on high in the microwave does the trick). They should be cooked almost all the way through.|
|2||Heat 3 tablespoons of butter in a large saute pan on medium heat. Add the onions and cook until translucent, about 4-5 minutes. Add 3 more tablespoons of butter and the brussels sprouts. Increase heat to medium high and cook sprouts with onions for 4-5 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste while they are cooking. Do not overcook!|
|3||Remove pan from heat, stir in lemon juice and almonds. Serve immediately.|
