Makes a nice Christmas gift
Main Ingredient: Chocolate
|1 3/4 cup||Sugar|
|1/3 cup||Corn syrup, light|
|1 cup||Earth Balance|
|8 ounces||Almonds; toasted & slivered|
|4 ounces||Semisweet chocolate chips|
|1||Over medium heat, heat sugar, syrup and 1/4 c. water. Stir in margarine. Set thermometer, cook, stirring frequently to 300? (20 min). Remove from heat, reserve 1/3 c. almonds. Stir remaining almonds in, immediately pour onto well greased sheet. Cool. Melt chocolate and shortening together. Remove candy in one piece. Spread with chocolate, sprinkle with almonds. Let set 1 hour. Break into pieces.|
