The Best Mashed Potatoes
Main Ingredient: Potato
Category: Side Dish
|6 medium||Gold Potato; Yukon, or other variety|
|2 tablespoon||Butter; (may need more)|
|1/4 cup||Milk 2%; (may need up to 1/2 cup)|
|Salt & pepper; to taste|
|1||Peel potatoes and cut in to a large dice, keeping cuts relatively Uniform. Cook Potatos in salted water until fork tender. drain and return to pan. Return pan to original burner (the heat will get out some of the liquid in the potato.) for a couple of minutes, this works on electric burners, gas burner may need to turn flame on to low. Be careful not to burn potatoes on top of pan|
|2||Season potatoes with salt and pepper. Add Butter to the Potato and start mashing all the flavors together until well blended. Then with a large spoon stir the potatoes checking consitency, if it's too thick, add milk and hand beat the potatoes.|
|3||This method leaves the potatoes lumpy. I prefer them that way. If you like them smoother beat with hand mixer.|
