|2 pounds||Lean ground beef|
|1 tablespoon||Minced Onions|
|1 1/2 cups||sugar|
|2 teaspoon||Celery seed|
|2 teaspoon||Onion powder|
|1||Mix ground beef, minced onion, and salt together. Place in slow cooker and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. When done, stir well. Meat should be a deep brown color with no pink areas. Drain maidrites in colander.|
|2||To prepare french dressing; combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend well. Pour into a glass jar and cover with lid. Refrigerate until ready to use.|
|3||Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly coat the white sides of hamburger buns with butter flavored non-stick cooking spray. Arrange on a cookie sheet, white sides down. Place on top rack and bake until toasted to desired crispness.|
|4||Serve maidrites on toasted buns with french dressing and shredded lettuce.|
