Ingredients

1/2 cupGranulated sugar
1/4 cupWater
1 tablespoonLemon juice
6 cupsStrawberries; hulled

Method

StepInstruction
1In a small saucepan, bring sugar and 1/4 cup (50 mL) water to boil, stirring often; boil for 1 minute. Let cool completely. Stir in lemon juice.
2Meanwhile, in food processor or blender, purée strawberries. Add syrup; whirl to combine.
3Pour into 8-inch (2 L) square metal cake pan; freeze until firm, about 8 hours. (Make-ahead: Cover and freeze for up to 1 week.)
4Scrape fork across surface of frozen puree to form crystals. Spoon into dishes.
